True pre-1915 absinthe fountains are rare and spectacular showpieces - when a genuine one in fine condition comes on
the market, it's always fought over by enthusiastic collectors. Caution needs to be exercised when buying one - many
post-ban anis fountains are sold as absinthe fountains by unscrupulous or ignorant vendors, as are perfume dispensers
and other related objects. In addition, fountains often have extensive repairs, not all of which may be obvious to the less
experienced collector. More recently, unbranded fountains have had etched advertising added to the glass reservoir, in
order to fraudulently increase their value.
At Absinthe Originals, we only sell true pre-1915 absinthe fountains in very good condition, with authentic original
reservoirs. If any minor repair work has been done to the spigots (which are prone to limestone calcification over the
years), it will be expressly stated in the description.

A fine cira 1910 Type II absinthe fountain in
excellent working order. 2 of the spigots work
perfectly, one is slightly stiff, and the fourth has
had a small internal repair. The fountain is fully
waterproof and leak free. The metal is in
excellent condition.
